Mary Lier is a licensed psychotherapist with over 20 years of clinical experience treating adults, children and families. Leir is a graduate of Calvin College with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree from the University of Michigan. She is well recognized for treating all levels of anxiety disorders and in particular co-occurring behavioral health issues such as depression, grief, ADHD, chronic health problems, divorce and difficult family relationships.

Leir is certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and specializes in trauma and post traumatic stress disorders. Leir's treatment modalities include cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused, psychodynamic and motivational therapy to assist clients achieve their personal goals towards health and wellness. She frequently presents on these topics to area churches and community groups

Lier is a professor at Western Michigan University and enjoys motivating students and teaching the latest in evidenced based therapy practices. In addition, Leir is a certified crisis counselor and provides crisis counseling services for area businesses and colleges following traumatic community events.
