Margaret E. Allen
I graduated Cum Laude from Indiana University School of Law in May of 1994. I live with my family in the Rockford area. My husband and I have 4 children, ranging in ages from 18-28.
Over the past 31 years, I have developed a passion for helping children and families, which led me to complete Collaborative Divorce training approximately 15 years ago. After litigating divorces for many years, I saw what litigation did to my clients and, as a result, their children.
I have come to realize that when people are offered a process that allows them to make their own decisions about what is best for their children, the children benefit greatly. Having worked together through a collaborative process, the parents set the foundation for their future parenting relationship. All family members are, therefore, better able to move forward.
The Collaborative Divorce process is truly a kinder process. It also works well for people who do not have children. It’s simply a better way to end a marriage.
